Dance Levels

Beginner

Entry-level dance steps including mayims, tcherkessias, balances, turns, yemenites, miserlus, and similar basics. Dances are normally no more than three sequences. Beginners can often follow the dance leader visually and can begin to read dance notations.

Intermediate

Assumes basic knowledge of dance sequences with some direction changes. Dances may be up to three parts, with at least one sequence facing out of the circle. Intermediate dancers are becoming proficient at reading notations, following the leader visually, and memorizing sequences when visual cues are not available.

Advanced

Requires knowledge of intermediate-level steps and the ability to learn dances with more than three parts. Advanced dancers should be comfortable reading notations, memorizing sequences, and following auditory rather than verbal cues through varied direction changes.
